Marni and I have been friends since 3rd grade – back when we performed “You Light Up My Life” together at the Ground Round’s talent night and were beaten out by a talking dog.  Since then we’ve shared many more adventures together.  College at the University of Michigan, we had our kids 10 days apart, and we both own NYC based, family-oriented businesses.  Marni is the founder and owner of the amazing Little Maestros music program.  I’ve photographed classes for their website and brochures, as well as a fabulous Maestros concert at the Nokia Theater.  It’s not hard to get great shots of this happy, loving, photogenic family. In fact, you’ll see favorites from some of our past shoots if you view the families tab of my site.  This time, we did things a little differently and rather than head outside to the park, we did the shoot right at home.  There’s something magical about photographing families in their homes.  As I think these photos illustrate, people are really themselves and “at home” when they’re – well – at home.  There’s no reason to wait til spring for family portraits… winter is a great time to book a session.
